Resurrection Sunday
Many of the blogs and groups to which I belong have political discussions or discussion about where to shop or what are the best things to buy and so forth and so forth …
I kind of get tired of all old trite things. I have been known to have the attention span of a three year old! And that in a kind of round about way brings me to my story.
Lin, my wife, has been working on a video project for the past couple of days. Today she showed me what see is working on and it is quite refreshing! She had taken tons of pictures of children participating in Patzcuaro’s 1st Day of Spring Parade. Many of this kids carried signs with pleas to save water, save the environment and pretty much saying save the world. Lin linked these up with music from the tune that says “we are the world …” That is quite a message in sound and pictures and that is what my story is about.
So here are few of the pictures to tell part of this story.
The sign says Don’t Waste Water.
The boy in the tiger’s suit on the right has as sign that says “Water is life, please do not waste it. Little by little it is being wasted away. Lets make a conscientious effort to take care of our water.”
This sign says “Did you know that for every hundred turtles born only two live to be adults?”
Guess that my point is in using these pictures that we need to put the emphasis on the future generation to try to make this a better planet for our grandkids. Seem like we have a long way to go and very little time to spare.
Otherwise we might see too many sad face as a result of our neglect.
I am having a hard time getting started again on blogging so I am taking the easy way out and posting items that I have use previously elsewhere. I this case it is about my immediate neighborhood. Got to warn that this is now old and there have been some changes since the pictures were taken. But that gives me a chance to provide a future update regarding what is.
I took a forty-five minute walks this morning a got a different prospective of my home and neighborhood.
The lavender house toward the center of the picture is our home.
Here is another view of the house.
A closer view.
Another angle.

In my part of the world, Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, the Day of Dead celebrations are very important as ancestors are held in very high regard. So it is essential that you put out a feast for your dearly departed. There are lots of things going in during this time including vigils at the cementaries and lots of spooky figures on sale at the Plaza Grande in town. Folks from all over the world come to look and shop! Here are a few of the pictures that I took this year.
